Fortunately, Mr. Abraham Lincoln Lewis, President of the "Afro-American Insurance Company" purchased 200 acres along the Fernandina Beach shoreline and created a beach resort for use, as...More

There was clesarly some hoistory at America Beach as some of the houses were wquite old and run down. There were some areas that were Ok but generally this is just another Atlantic Coast beach with decent strips of sand and not a lot more.

Took a stroll along the beach about 1000in the morning and came across a couple of juvenile loggerhead turtles eating in the dunes. Not crowded and very kid friendly area.

Made a brief stop on our way to Central Florida to visit the historic American Beach, FL. Although Amelia Island/American Beach were nearly 12 miles outside of our route, it was worth the trip. The beach itself may possibly be only a few miles long,...More

My favorite place! Beautiful beach, town and people! Everyone is friendly and our dog loved the beach but not as much as I do!
