We visited this quaint theater for the first time last weekend to see Memphis. Now, I saw Memphis in NYC a couple years ago so I was unsure about how this little theater group would bring it to life. They were amazing! What a wonderful evening out! Some background, we bought tickets over the phone, having never seeing the facility.... More

Great place to catch a play featuring the local acting community. I have seen several shows here over the years and it always provides a lovely and entertaining evening out.

Although not much for evening entertainment away from home, have found Players by the Sea which was really great theater and worth the trip. Last evening, we saw the last performance of "Almost Maine" which was terrific! Nice to find legitimate theater equal to the Mad Cow Theater in Orlando.

Players by the Sea performed the stage rendition of a book I had previously enjoyed reading, " A lesson Before Dying ". The local cast and crew did an excellent job delivering a professional presentation. This was my first visit. I plan to come back again.

"Players" has come a long way over the last twenty odd years. I have seen it grow from a struggling performance venue to a bonafide community theater with excellent actors, singers and dancers.Stage sets are well done, acoustics are good and most performances play to full houses. The staff is courteous, friendly and extremely community minded. musicals are my favorite... More

Each time my wife and I attend a performance we are never dissatisfied. The people, the place makes you feel at home. It's like take your shoes off and enjoy the evening. In fact we are going to,purchase season tickets for 2016.

Have attended 5 performances at this community theater & enjoyed them all. The local talent is awesome, both in their acting & singing. Live an hour away but well worth the trip.

PBTS seems like a thriving community theater. I'm glad SOMEBODY is filling this important niche! The quality of their productions is all over the place. I saw one very excellent show (Rent) there recently - it was first class community theater. Other shows have been less successful.

They do have talented actors. But management is bent on offering only off-the-wall, non-mainstream, never-been-heard-of shows. I don't mind a little of this, but it gets tedious after a while. And there's usually a reason that they've "never-been-heard-of." They usually just aren't very good. They do have a loyal, but small following, and they will likely continue to limp along.... More

Clearly one of the best options for great entertainment in Jacksonville. Cutting edge, high quality live theatre for a fraction of the cost of comparable choices for a night on the town
