Wonderful exhibits, lovely space, and you get 3 fers because next door is the Natural History Museum and Butterfly Rainforest. And on the other side is the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. And I believe admission is still free. PS it owns a Monet though it may still be traveling with a Monet exhibit.

This is a nice small art museum. It includes a photographic exhibit nicely done. There are a large number of paintings. The pottery has some great pieces to view. There are a number of unusual pieces. The museum is put together very tastefully

Despite living in Gainesville for the better part of a decade, I'd never ventured to the Harn Museum. Partially because I was unaware of the fact that it was free to students, and partially because I was very close-minded about what could be offered at a university museum. I attended one night as part of their Museum Nights (free to... More

Typical of a high quality university art museum the Harn's collection is broad but shallow. Some outstanding pieces and interesting temporary exhibits. Nice building is larger than it appears, and galleries are spacious, well designed, and everything is nicely labeled. I'll visit again next time I'm in Gainesville. No set admission fee, but donations are encouraged.

Nicely done small museum. There was an excellent educational and very beautiful show of 46 photo portraits of Frida Kahlo, and a very disturbing show of war photos "Aftermath - America in the Middle East." It's on display to December 31, 2016 and is worth the visit.

Spacious galleries, remarkable changing exhibits, and a broad permanent collection. Staff is friendly and helpful. It's a great outing solo, with family, or with a group.

We were in town for a retirement party and decided to check out this local art museum. First, the staff was beyond pleasant and helpful. Second, the museum was not packed and one could wander and view without crowds getting in the way. We were so please to find that one of the exhibits was "Mirror, Mirror...Portraits of Frida Kahlo".... More

I had a 13 and 10 year old and they were good about not touching and could read all the plaques. I wouldn't take little walking ones there. It was free to get in, air conditioned and all flat walking. We enjoyed ourselves.

The museum was just the right size for an afternoon visit. They have a nice selection and we really enjoyed it. The outdoor exhibits were beautiful.
