Ichetucknee Springs State Park has 2241 acres, Covid 19 procedures, facilities. Lots of things to do, rivers, swim, snorkel, fish. The trails are well maintained, by very good staff.

We went just to walk the trails as I have a service dog. The North entrance had nice trails but my dog is not allowed in the spring area, I understand it says no dogs allowed so we had a nice walk anyway. Then we wanted to check out the South entrance, got yelled at for my dog. We left immediately any place that doesn’t allow my service animal. Check your dog for ticks before leaving, she had several on her.

So today we went to the springs and the barrier at the end is broken and lined up against the stair, thus allowing people to pass the barrier without knowing. Two young girls ended up past the barrier, one paddling with every ounce of energy - telling everyone she needed help. The second one was grabbing onto the tree with her life. My husband and I swam to them to help. The girl on the tube abandoned it and only made it to the tree where she also grabbed on with all of her force. I had one girl hop into my tube and the other hold on as we tried to paddle back. I am very strong for a female my size and was not able to budge the tube against a current. As I am struggling to swim back with these girls as my husband has swam down the river to save their belongings, the worker Garrett, looked me dead in the eye and continued to watch me struggle as I tried to save these girls. I asked the girls to please just keep kicking so we didn’t go further down stream, that my husband will be back to save us. After a couple minutes of swimming literally for my life and these girls lives, an older couple canoed up and asked us to grab onto the back so they could pull us in. The entire time, Garrett is watching us. I could barely walk after as my legs were completely depleted of energy. My frustration had me on the verge of tears and the amazing driver of the tram pointed me in the direction of Linda and Jason. So I was first pointed to Jason. Who literally IGNORED ME AND CONTINUED TO MAKE FRENCH FRIES. French fries are more important than a CLEARLY distraught female who is struggling to walk. Luckily the associate (curly headed girl at the snack bar) sensed the urgency and grabbed Linda. She also could clearly sense the urgency and how upset I was and immediately did what she could to rectify the situation. As a manager, Jason absolutely disgusts me. As a manager myself, as a HUMAN BEING, I could never watch someone with tears in their eyes, struggling to walk, and continue to add fries to the frier. These girls could have lost their lives and Jason was laughing and joking instead of even conversing with me. I hope they do what is right and send Jason to float down the river.

It was only 58 degrees outside the day we went. We spent the majority of our time at the north entrance swimming areas. Water was crystal clear and beautiful. It wasn't too busy, so there was plenty of space to spread out by the water entrance. There's a restroom/changing area and a small playground nearby. Also, a great spot for a picnic lunch with plenty of tables on site.

We took kayaks from the north end all the way down. The springs were full of water and very saturated. Loved the sunning turtles, the family of manatees and exotic birds. An excellent day with blue skies and beautiful scenery.
