The beaches were washed away years back during a storm. The reconstruction brought a fresh look and they seem to have gotten rid of the folks who were transient hanging out and drinking under the old pier. The restaurants are plentiful and the local staffs are very welcoming

The pier is a NW Florida tradition. Locals and visitors have enjoyed this experience for years. From the novice to the expert there any many species of fish to be caught. If you are not a fisherperson you can pay a nominal fee to walk out and observe. Several good restaurants and the Gulfarium are just steps away.

Less tourists than other Florida beaches. We loved our stay, found a great condo for a great price! Even with 4 days of rain, was an awesome week

We took the kids to the Island hoping they could play in the crystal clear water while we fished. The kids had a great time and the water was beautiful, unfortunately the fishing wasn't. The pompano should have been running but we didn't catch any and didn't see anyone else catching any off the beach.

Living 5 minutes from Okaloosa Island, we have great access to the beaches, the restaurants and the fun activities that the island offers locals and tourists. The High Tide restaurant is definitely introduces you to old Floirda and their seafood is the freshest.

I have been all over the world and this is one of the prettiest beaches I have ever seen. And I have never seen sand this white. If you look quick at the large dunes-it looks like snow! So pretty!
