We enjoyed seeing the way school used to be taught. The volunteers were great at explaining how a typical school day would have been. You step back in time & it's definitely worth the visit of you're in Destin or FT Walton Beach on vacation.

The old schoolhouse is filled with information of days gone by. Such a nice informative visit. The $5 fee covers the museum, school, civil war building, post office and Indian mounds. Bruce was such a pleasure to talk to. Like an old friend. He made...More

Alot to see and the information that we told was fantastic. Couldn't believe how original the items they had were and how it was like walking back into time. We felt as we were children back in a time the world was so different. Must...More

We really enjoyed our visit to the Ft. Walton Beach Heritage Park, and the schoolhouse in particular. There are 4 museums/buildings to be explored for one very reasonable price. The schoolhouse was our favorite because my boy was encouraged to touch, explore and ask questions....More

Walking thru this original school house and observing much of the artifacts, I was readily taken back o some of my elementary years. For many baby-boomers, the desks are as they were then for us, The black chalk boards, etc. The an who speaks on...More

A must stop for anyone who remembers inkwells in their desks and rows of seat that were attached. This is also good for our children to see so that they can appreciate the advances in the tools used in education

I recommend having kids come here to appreciate the school they attend currently. The building is for the most part looks like it did originally. There are also two buildings out behind the school that are small but the same feel.

This Schoolhouse brings memories of the past to life for some and new ideas for others. The building, the accessories, the books, the furniture all present a wonderful look back into the way it was ....

Older schoolhouses and the like really interest me, so this was a win for me. Tucked back just off one of the main drags, it's hard to imagine a time where the schoolhouse stood alone.
