My wife and I called here for a morning walk. It's a nice place with some great spots to see the local wildlife. We both got some nice photos and had a really good time. It's not all boardwalk and there are places where the...More

The preserve is one block from our rental and we often walk along its paths to the fishing dock. It is beautiful and peaceful.

This was a really cool place to walk, but we would have enjoyed it more had we prepared more for swarms of gnats and mosquitos. We saw beautiful birds, liittle lizards, and tiny blue crabs scurrying on the boardwalks. The preserve was very peaceful and...More

Mostly mangrove trees so majority is shaded. The few intersecting trails are well marked. This park is on bay side and part of trail leads to shelter at water's edge.

If you need a break from the sand, take a walk through mangroves. We went mid morning, still sunny but also some shady parts to the walk. We went into the information center and nice lady gave us some additional information about the area.

Nice shaded trails through mangrove area. About 1.5 miles of trail , some boardwalk. Easy to get to but only 3 parking spaces. Free!

Kind of a windy day for kayaking or sitting on the beach so we went over to Matanzas Pass Preserve to check it out. Free parking and admission made our day. Not much to see if you are not familiar with the local floral or...More

Have done all the trails twice and have not seen any animals except birds, little lizards, and one raccoon. Hope that helps.
