This was our alternative to Corkscrew Cypress Swamp. There is a long well maintained boardwalk through numerous wetland features. You will see anhinga, night herons, wood ducks, alligators, little blue, great and snowy egrets, and water snakes. It looks like outstanding habitat for warblers in the early morning. Parking is a dollar for an hour with a daily max of... More

We were looking for an afternoon adventure when we came across this place. Nice walking trails with plenty natural wildlife to see. Animals and vegetation in their natural environment. Better than any zoo! Take your time and walk the trails at your own pace. Find many hidden gems around every corner.

This was our last stop of the day and the best. Very well thought out trail with scenic over looks. We saw alligators, turtles and all different kinds of native birds. We even saw a snake curled up on a tree branch. Very worth the time and effort.

A great opportunity to see nature in Fort Myers. Very pleasant boardwalk, places to stop and view wildlife. Very worthwhile to see and experience, especially since there's no admission, just a small parking fee. Great place for an entertaining, educational walk!

Great nature center for viewing wildlife; alligators - egrets - turtles - snakes. Over a mile long elevated boardwalk with 31 information stops (using your iPhone/QR codes). The interpretive cent was also interesting and worth the time to visit. The boardwalk is wheelchair friendly and mostly shaded. This is a free admission - however, parking has a nominal hourly fee.... More

This Preserve is an excellent trip for ALL ages. The boardwalk through the entire Preserve makes for easy enjoyable walking for any age. You can stroll at your own pace and stop to look for wildlife on your own or take an offered guided tour. Parking fee is minimal and the Preserve is free. Well worth the stop to enjoy.... More

We took the 9:30 tour with Susan. There are tours at 9:30 and 1:30. We learned a lot and saw a lot of things. There were groups of 10 and she managed the two little boys in our group very nicely. All the superlatives in the other reviews are true. We saw snakes, gators, egrets, herons, anhingas, turtles. Boardwalk is... More

A two hour walk along the boardwalk afforded me the chance to get away from the world. The birding was amazing. Saw a couple large gators as well as some large tracks in the mud.

The trail takes about 1hour 30 minutes to 2 hours and it's free! Parking I believe was $2 an hour. I only wish we were there another day so we could go back again. Very easy to walk the boardwalk, we saw many different birds, turtles, alligators.
