Well done...very organized, beautiful, educational, would go again to repeat the tour. There is alot of walking...may be hard to manage for some, in that case. At the "Cottage" Gift Shop, at the end of the home tour, there SHOULD be a restroom...for children, the elderly...it's a long walk back to the beginning, where there are restrooms. At this stop, water... More

Simply, it's really a fascinating museum. Two titans whose winter homes sat side by side. Edison arrived first and introduced Fort Myers to Henry Ford who then purchased the property adjacent to Edison's. Both houses sit on the Caloosahatchee River. Along with the homes, you have beautiful gardens and a fairly large museum that depicts the life and times of... More

This is such a wonderful place to learn about Edison and Ford. Wear walking shoes and comfortable clothing. This place has great tours that you can do by yourself but we opted to do a guided tour. So much information that schools never each. The huge museum took a lot of time to go thru. The guides were wonderful and... More

Really enjoyed the historical aspect of this place. Audio tour was helpful and you can go at your own pace. Houses lovely, gardens gorgeous and the laboratory was fascinating. Had no idea those two men were so prolific.

If you belong to a botanical garden back home, check to see if they are on the list of reciprocal gardens. Our membership at Missouri Botannical Gardens helped us save $40. There is a lot to see and do. We paid $5 each for the audio tour of the homes and gardens. We did these first. While you cannot go... More

I am so glad we visited the Edison & Ford winter estates. I didn't much know about it and was fascinated. What an interesting man Thomas Edison was, and the exhibits really do him justice, not just showing off his many inventions but also giving a glimpse into his family and social life. I particularly enjoyed the exhibit about his... More

Great place to take a break from the sun and beaches and learn something. We had two kids with us who still are asking questions about the science they saw.

Lab is awesome for science geeks. The houses have great gardens and views. It is a couple hour tour. Well worth the price of admission.
