If you have limited time in Fort Lauderdale or simply want to see more of the city from the water, take a boat cruise on the New River for great views of places that are otherwise difficult to access. Get close views of downtown, along with mega yachts and waterside mansions along Millionaire's Row as you travel through the canals and hear live commentary from the guide.

When I’m in Ft Lauderdale, this is where I take our dog to run off leash. Decent amount of room for dogs to run free, dogie obstacles course, also a separate dog swim park area. Parking is free on weekdays.

This is a great park for the nature lover. It's got lakes with boardwalks at water level, it's got open fields, it's got picnic shelters, it's got a little beach, and it's got nature. It's a great place to relax, read a book, walk, to play, and have a good time. You can go as a family, as a couple or just by yourself.

Snyder Park is close to downtown Fort Lauderdale but offers something for everyone: a small butterfly garden with butterflies, fenced in dog park divided into areas for small and large dogs, nature trails, a dog beach on a small pond, multiple shelters that can be reserved for picnics and parties. The shelters must be reserved. Also check the website before going with your dog as the dog park and beach are closed for maintenance a couple times a week.

Snyder is the home of Bark Park, and granddaughter Kaitlyn said her father said if she gets all A's on her report cart this year she gets a puppy. It's great to watch the dogs romp around. If however, she gets that B in math, maybe we can watch the butterflies.
