This beach is much more laid back and less of a stand and model feel than the beaches that are further south in Miami Beach. It is also a bit more family friendly.

Had a view of the ocean from the place we stayed. Enjoyed the view and also going to the beach and riding the waves.

Newly renovated area surrounding beach. Plenty of parking and so many restaurants and fun shops. You will not be bored if the beach is not your thing. Everything is within walking distance. Nice bike lanes and great for walking or jogging. Plenty of beach toys...More

We didn't swim on this visit because the red flags were up indicating rough surf from the high winds. Nonetheless, it's a lovely beach which was clean and well-tended. There appeared to be numerous lifeguards available.

Maybe its just me going at the wrong times, but I went there in December and just now in June and no one could go in the water because of the high tides

Ft.Lauderdale is just wonderful. I stayed in front of the beach front. I loved it. Food is great. People are great. You would enjoy it.

Just had a weekend in Ft Lauderdale and it rained each day while I was there. I knew it would be rainy but so I wasnt disappointed. The ocean is spectacular... rain OR shine. So, as the raindrops fell, we frolicked anyway... More
