Lots of history in such a unique environment. A great estate without the pump and circumstance of Vizcaya but also uniquely beautiful. The art collection from the Bartlett's is fun, all the orchids around the property are beautiful and the staff is all great (minus the one short lady with the graspy voice, she's annoying and bossy). Interesting history and so wonderful to see this house and the gardens preserved. We expected having to follow along the audio tour but were greeted by knowledgeable volunteers in every room. They really brought the history of the Bartlett family to life!

The home was owned by artist Frederick Bartlett and his wives, the final one Evelyn deeded it to use as a museum after her death. They painted the ceilings, the floors and decorated with natural shells from the nearby beach. Walking through you can enjoy the whimsical collection of treasures from around the world including some lovely artworks, funky carved animals and kitschy collections. It's an easy way to enjoy a slow walking afternoon. There is a great gift shop also where you can get a cold drink.…

I live locally but had never been to the Bonnet House. I took my out of town guests for something to do. It was not as visually stunning as Vizacaya in Miami, but was interesting. The people working/volunteering there were very informative and nice. Interesting for adults but boring for kids. The visit took about an hour. I’m glad we went, but have no desire to go back.…
