Six of us went to see Mean Girls at the Broward Center for the performing arts and had a wonderful time. The theater is well constructed and well manned. We had no difficulty getting checked in and to our seats in spite of a sold out crowd. Seating was good with ample room. Because of the crowds getting in and out we parked a mile away and took Uber to and from. It worked well and saved us money. The play was a little hard to understand and I noted other people have talked about bad acoustics and that was compounded by a fast talking cast.…

As Covid -19 creates a Pandemic, the Center is more interested in protecting its short term profits rather than create a policy of allowing its patrons from opting out of attending performance without forfeiting the ticket price. Its website has a boiler plate page about the virus. That's it. The center apparently does not understand that many people especially the elderly may wish to avoid a mass gathering like a packed hall. The management would do well to follow the examples of the neighboring cruise industry which, at a great cost to itself, is allowing customers to opt out of cruising. A center to promote Arts and Culture should not be an unwitting participant in spreading of the virus .…
