We visited Ft. Clinch and the State Park over the holidays. The National Park Service does an excellent job; staff is civil, helpful, courteous and clearly professional. The beaches are patrolled on schedule, and therefore safe to that extent. The Fort itself is accessible by...More

Fort Clinch State Park is well worth a visit. Apart from the Fort which is worth a visit and never actually saw any action the tour is very interesting re Civil War history. The guides dress up in themed costumes and take you back to...More

Camping at the Atlantic Beach Campground near the Cumberland sound and Atlantic Ocean. There is a nice Boardwalk that takes you to the beach where you can find seashells and Priceless sunsets. The restroom facilities are clean and new. The sand dunes are beautiful.

A great tour of the fort and museum. The park is beautiful. We went searching for sharks teeth on the beach. Did not find any, but the hunt was fun!

This place is just beautiful with huge old live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. We stayed in our RV in the state park which is well kept and each site is beautiful under the oaks or on the sand dunes. Truly old Florida.

Enjoyed walking around the fort and talking with caretakers. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed walking on beach just outside fort. Scenic drive in.

I'm sorry I didn't see the question sooner but I would say it is worth driving through. I enjoyed looking at the trees.

Between exploring Ft. Clinch, taking Amelia River Cruise's Cumberland Island sightseeing cruise, strolling the shops of Centre Street, and hanging out at the beach, one can easily spend at least one night if not two nights... More
