Very impressive and quite deserted even in December. When I was there it was not cold as I was expecting. It is quite scary to see 400 mtrs direct fall.

It took us about 4 hours ( longer than expected) to get to the abandoned village and back. We did not make it to the pool area as needed to get back to the car by 5.30 pm to drive down Jebel Shams before sun-set....More

Takes your breath away. A must see if your in Oman. Pro: Views Landscape Cons: Go prepared their are no restrooms or restaurants in the immediate area.

Most of the people stop by the road to take the pic from the distance but went all the way down the wadi and up to the abandoned village. Possible, but only in dry wadi, to leave the car close to the little mosque then...More

My family hiked the balcony walk in one afternoon. The temperatures in Nizwa were 45 degrees but up along the balcony it was 32...very pleasant with a nice breeze. Make sure you take lots of water and some sturdy shoes. Our 11 year-old daughter fared...More

Yes you can go by normal car, but keep in mind that about 7 km is unpaved gravel road , in good condition but steep.Not far from the resort starts one of the most beautiful walks ( W6 )of Oman .
