We will be back; very nice trails. Walked up to the top of the tower. Long line but it went very quickly; worth the climb. Several trails. We will be back.

Note - This is NOT Myakka State Park. This 'forest' is an area of basically flat land that was slated for subdivision before being rescued by politicians. It's not markedly different than vacant lots in the area. I believe it's attractive to horse riders and bicyclers, but boring for others. I would steer clear.

Pay to drive a 2 mile dirt road. A trail or two if you care to walk. At the end of the road you have to turn around and go back the way you came because the gate is closed.

You have to pay to get in and the trail system is not much fun. We saw nothing and drove from one end to the other. Not worth the time unless you have a bike.

Bird sanctuary area and a beautiful nature walk with dense unusual trees and easy flat paths. Alligators in a different section. Great place.

If you are interested in Florida as it was, Myakka State Forest is a step back in time. Nature means Oak Hammocks, Alligators, all kinds of birds, even an orange tree can be found. It is one of the best state parks in a state that has many many parks. One of my fav's was a hootenanny held under a... More

I went through the back country of this state forest. It was a wonderful morn, which I suggest you do, Not in the afternoon, when the sun is blazing. A local stable brought about 15 horse's over, it was very enjoyable! Can't wait to go again..

Went for a hike today at the park. It was amazing, saw a ton of wildlife. Can't wait to go again. The trails are well marked and easy to follow.

Currently only Front 10 campsites are available. Sites 1, 8, 9 are suitable for Larger RV or travel trailer. Campsites are large, have nice Fire ring and Grill. Campsites are primitive, no hook ups. Walking or Bike trails are wide and well marked. Hoped to see little wide life

Myakka State Forest is NOT being a good neighbor at all on Foresman Blvd. We have been in contact with them to fix the drainage on their side of the street as our road keeps flooding at times to the point where we cannot access our home. (at the Foresman Blvd Trailhead) Our road continues to wash away every storm,... More
