Campobello Island has so many things to See or Do: 1---Visit the Roosevelt Campobello International Park where Franklin Roosevelt spent his summers. It's FREE. 2---Hiking in the International Park or Herring Cove a Provincial Park. Lots of trails in all difficulty levels, some inland, some to or along the shore. 3---Head Harbor Lightstation is at the north end of the... More

Thank you for your kind review of the Island's many treasures. Though I don't believe you have taken our Island Tour (correct me if I am wrong) I sure appreciate your favorable posting. A little correction though re. the Golf Course: It does not have any connection to FDR. Our Golf Course is part of the Provincial Park and was... More

Visited last week in September. Views around the island are so stunning! We saw eagles & seals. Visited the lighthouses and of course Roosevelts "Cottage". We were able to get tickets for the free "Tea With Eleanor" with Carolyn and Debbie who made it a fun learning experience.

We were a group of 7 women away for a girls getaway for 5 days and Campobello Island was one of our stops. Peter was excellent and we kept commenting on how he was one of the highlights of our trip. He picked us up in a large van and then took us touring around the island. He was flexible... More

While I normally don't like guided tours Campobello Island is one of those places where you will benefit from a tour guide. Peter Harwerth runs Campobello Sightseeing. While Peter is a German native he's lived on Campobello for 8 years and knows everyone (all 900 of them). Peter picked us up in Lubec, ME and drove us across the border.... More

After driving around the Island on day one we heard about Peter and Campobello Sightseeing. On day 2 we engaged Peter the owner and driver/guide for a 2.5 hour tour. Peter is knowledgeable about the Island and full of wonderful stories about each place we visited in his van. His tour and commentary was the high light of our visit... More

Be sure to remember that Campobello Island in in the Atlantic Time Zone while Libec Maine is in he Eastern Time Zone

I was "the last tour of the season" and was treated to a private tour by Peter. I knew I could drive around the island by myself, but wouldn't learn anything that way. Having a resident take you and give you not only history but insight into life on the island, such as the reliance on the fishing industry, was... More

Campobello Island visit was magical, of course having a terrific guide like Peter from Island Tour helped tremendously, on our own, pretty sure we would have missed a lot on the history of the island, We got to see and experience a lot more than having visited the Island on our own.

1st thing...remember your passport if you are a U.S citizen! Visiting the island and the Roosevelt summer home was such a pleasure. The historical background of how the family came to summer here, and the national and personal history surrounding Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt`s lives are well presented. The film, photos, and guides are all 1st rate. After we left... More

We were fortunate enought to find this company to escort us on our tour of the island. We picked up Bea, and she was not only informative, she was also a lot of fun. She took us to the lighthouse at low tide, which is a MUST to see and do, considering you get to walk across the ocean floor.... More
