The luckiest fishing village, also known as Destin is home to the Destin Harbor an idyllic tourist destination that is the heart of the Emerald Coast. Home to the largest fishing fleet and wonderful restaurants and shops, the harbor is a great community hub.

We went to catch a boat for dolphin viewing (which was great) and stayed close to the shore in the harbor area mostly. Calm water, and of course it was a treat to see dolphins swimming around the area. On shore, there are restaurants and...More

Found it underwhelming. Not much to see but I did like our rented condo on Miramar Beach. Fishing on party boat was fun. Just st cold though. People are very friendly and helpful.

Very nice to walk the boardwalk, see the fishing boats come in and enjoy the views. Many restaurants and shops and activities for young and old.

Excellent place to spend the day - eat, shop, take a cruise, water taxi, sit and watch, especially watch the sunset.

Destin claims to have the world's largest fishing fleet. It may be so. More than 150 charter boats and, by my count, at least 7 party boats. If you have a full party, it is easy to charter any of the boats. If not, if...More

We ate dinner at a few local restaurants, and walked the boardwalk area. In the evening, the activities wind down and there isn't as much open (at least at this time of year). Still enjoyable if you like the fishing and boating ambiance.

We had a fun time here. Nice area to stroll around and relax. The restaurants have great views on the harbor to watch come and go. Lots to see and do.

The closest major airport would be VPS. Valparaiso-Fort Walton Beach. Destin has a private airport right now.
