I cannot say enough about this place and what a wonderful facility this is. If I could give it 10 stars, I would! The snake exhibits are beautiful, clean, and informative (among other exhibits, i.e. alligator snapping turtle and tortoises). The venom extraction demonstration is a MUST SEE and owner Carl Barden is personable, down-to-earth, and engaging - eager to... More

This was an absolutely awesome place to visit , we all learned a lot about snakes and the ones that they let you hold are so wonderful. The couple that run the place have an absolute passion for what they are doing and it shows . Our Granddaughter was in her glory even though she entered the building being afraid... More

We live in Deland and had never even heard of this place until we came across it on TripAdvisor. The venom extraction demonstrations alone are worth the price of admission. The observation trail was neat with many different animals including a giant Burmese python and Alligators. The alligators were very aggressive this day and were fascinating to watch. The whole... This was a great little place to stop for an afternoon. It's off the beaten path but well worth the trip. There is an outside area which would be hot in summer but you can see reptiles from around the world plus a group of gators from Florida. Most of the reptiles kept outside were visible when we were there,... More

I am not a huge fan of snakes, but I found this place to be very interesting. There is a good mix of activities. There was a group of children from a school that had a great time. It was a fun experience.

My husband and I are both seniors and found this to be very interesting and informative. We went to see the milking of the reptiles. After the live performance, we were invited to ask questions. I asked about 20 questions and my husband asked several more. All of our questions were answered to perfection. One could say the staff knows... More

We were very fortunate that someone told us about this place; otherwise, we may have missed it. What a wonderful opportunity to learn more about snakes of the world and the system of milking them for using their venom in anti-venom. In addition to the indoor exhibits, there is a nice, short trail that provides other animals for viewing. The... More

This is a great stop for kids! My boys especially loved it. Its right between Daytona and DeLand and it is something out of the ordinary if youre on vacation and looking for something to do.

I like the intimacy and dedicated staff. The educational value is better then in the large publicly funded zoos.

We had many age levels represented in our group. Everyone enjoyed and learned from the experience. I agree with the other reviewers, you must not miss the venom collection programs. Visit their website to get times and information.
