Went there for the pancake house, and enjoyed the springs. Cold, and beautiful. Took a little hike. As an avid hiker, I was bummed I had too little time to check out the trails more.

BayNews9 in Tampa did a review of the "gristmill" and made it sound like a great place to take our grandchildren for a new experience. Never again! They failed to mention that it is inside a state park so first you pay admission to the...More

I am a native Floridian and have visited MANY of Florida's springs. This one is very nice. Not the best, but certainly worth a visit.

We attempted to stop by for pancakes at noon on a Wednesday, but were greeted by a 1.5 hour wait. This wait was caused by a lack of wait staff - half of the restaurant was empty. I won't be going back anytime soon.

We went kayaking. Ate lunch in the VERY BUSY restaurant. Rode on the nature pontoon boat. The kayaking was easy. The food and service was good. The nature boat ride was very interesting.

We packed a picnic lunch and came to play in the beautiful springs. There were many tables/grills for the picnic. We have enjoyed making the pancakes at our table in previous visits. The spring is refreshing and so beautiful.

We debated which springs to stop at as we were passing through central Florida. By fate (the first two we choose are closed) we ended up at De Leon Springs. We have small children that aren’t great swimmers so this place ended up being great!...More
