We did a tour of the three sisters springs. There is no on site parking, and the trail isn’t very clear, you have to cut across some grass to get to it. No washrooms or anywhere to get a drink. The springs were beautiful and...More
We went during September so there aren't any manatee that go into the springs, HOWEVER it is still an awesome place to kayak to and swim!!! You don't need a mask or snorkel. I swam under water with my eyes open and could see everything...More
We canoed from a local marina and it looked close on the GPS so we paddled on over..
Worth the trip. It's tucked away in an unsuspecting area. We canoed through pipes set to keep out boats etc.. and found this beautiful treasure.
We rented canoes to explore Three Sisters Springs and were rewarded with manatees surfacing right next to us. The water was crystal clear. The canals are easy to navigate and we paddled over to the large island, observed birds and tons of other wildlife. Fun...More
Our family recently visited the springs during a manatee snorkeling trip with Gulf Coast Expeditions on Crystal River. The springs are crystal clear and the surrounding area is beautiful. There were not manatees in the springs but we did see 3 right out side the...More
You can only get there by boat - You have to put in at a public park and then paddle 30 minutes to get to the springs which are small and crowded. Cannot put in at 3 sisters park directly. Pretty - not much to...More
We boated up to the entrance of the springs and swam across the river to the springs. Clear and cool water was enough to get your attention. Lots of boats, kayaks, paddle boards, canoes to be mindful of, but fun, exciting and rewarding. Swim up...More

Yes there is a boardwalk around the springs. The only sticking point is that the boardwalk is only accessible from the land side. You have to drive, walk or bike to the boardwalk park via the street. Also the boardwalk is only for viewing and no spring access is allowed from the boardwalk. By the same token if you are in the spring you cannot access the boardwalk.

I don't believe you can enter three sister unless you paddle in or enter from the water only side. You can walk around it if you go directly to it, but not get in the water. I think hunter springs park would be a better choice for what you are looking for. There is a small beach and a roped off swimming area, very nice. Have a wonderful time.
