Great little beach to take students that aren't the strongest of swimmers. Was able to teach my students how to snorkle without a huge crowd. Love this little secluded piece of heaven

This is not a typical Florida beach. The sand is nice but getting in the water sucks because it’s muddy!! Would not return.

Nice smaller beach, very clean. Has picnic pavilions with picnic tables. Bathrooms are in middle. No lifeguard. Beach has few waves. No fee parking area . Fishing pier and boat ramp on Gulf of Mexico.

happened upon this amazing family swimming and picnic spot clearly by chance. Wished we had brought along our swim suits because it is a perfect place for kids and us older folks to enjoy the water.

This is definitely a local favorite. The beach is typically quiet and is well cared for by the county. Beautiful sunsets can be seen here. My husband proposed to me on the beach and we were married on the beach. We try to visit at...More

Great beach for young kiddos as there are no waves. There are some covered picnic tables that offer nice shade if you get there early. There's also a pier for fishing and outdoor showers to rinse off. Can get busy on the weekends and during...More

A mud hole at the end of a 9 mile road. Brown sand, smelly water, and folks you see in Wal Mart...... always. You KNOW what I mean. And drunk to boot ! See the sunset elsewhere.

We found this beach accidentally by following a road sign. The beach is in a cove on the Gulf. It has great views of the Gulf. The sand is the fine sugary kind. The water is slightly warm but yet refreshing. The waves are minimal....More

We were visiting Crystal River and saw the sign for Fort Island Beach and rode down to check it out. It is a very small patch of sand with a roped off area for swimming, public bathrooms, and a boat launch.

This is a nice little beach to take the family (or your love). On a clear evening the sunset is beautiful. We tried to release lanterns but it was too windy. Everyone enjoyed playing in the shallow water and walking out on the pier. If...More

The Williston route is a safe bet. See if you can maximize the visit with Three Sisters Springs.

No, there are several signs indicating that dogs are not welcome. Sad. Just beyond the beach there is a fishing pier area where you can walk your dog. However, it is quite small. Hope that helps.
