Ruth Eckerd Hall's near perfect acoustics have received rave reviews from artists, technicians and audience members since opening in 1983. Combined with state of the art equipment, comfortable amenities and world class entertainment, it's no wonder that it has been recognized as one of Tampa Bay's best concert halls numerous times as well as a finalist for Pollstar's Theater of the Year twice. In 2003, the Hall's audience chamber received a complete refurbishment, its 2,180 seats were reconfigured to accommodate more patrons with disabilities, and lobby and restrooms were expanded.Ruth Eckerd Hall has continental-style seating. Almost every patron prizes a center seat and continental-style provides the maximum possible. There are no support columns, no obstructed views. Seating is sloped and staggered. For safety and comfort, the aisle space is wider than traditional layouts; entry and exit can be made while patrons remain seated. There are 14 sets of double doors leading out from the audience chamber. With this configuration, a full house can be cleared in a matter of minutes.Among the original community leaders who conceptualized building a performing arts center this side of Tampa Bay, was Jack Eckerd. During construction, Mr. Eckerd designated a significant contribution as a birthday gift to his beloved wife, Ruth, making the dream a reality. The Hall proudly bears her name.

Best place to see a concert

we drive from SRQ - same bands at half the price! All the seats are good (no nose bleed seats there), parking is pretty good and free.

I love coming here for concerts. It's a smaller venue so it's more of an intimate setting. There is a cafe outside with tables and chairs and usually a food truck. There's lights strung through the tress making it a beautiful setting. It also has great acoustics for better sound. And! There are cup holders in the seat in front... More

This is a great theater no matter where you sit and you don't have to worry that someone's head will be in your way. As you will see in the attached photo I was seated in row V and had a clear view of the stage. I attended this event on my own but there were people of many ages.... More

This is such a nice venue for music and as someone else said, there is no bad seat in the house. Lots of people to help you with seats and even someone in the bathroom this time to maneuver people in and out as that tends to be very crowded or at least the women's. What does need attention is... Parking is terrible trying to get out after a show. Flow of crowd through the space is bad. Tight and restrooms are in bad places. Upper level seats: all good, but no aisles! Makes for long rows of seats that are not easy to get in and out of. Also makes for lots of people moving in front of you... More

REH is a theater style music venue. It features a lot of national and regional top acts with very high production values. It is NOT a club or bar. You'll need tickets to get in. Seating is comfortable and the staff are very professional. It's a great place to see a concert. Check out the website for the events calendar.

perfect venue not a bad seat in the house-I have sat in the very back row and enjoyed the event as if I was in the front row-I like that it's a smaller more personal setting. Amazing acoustics been there many many times

There is not a bad seat in this beautiful venue. Seating capacity of 12,000; now that is what I call intimate .... You can become lsoua member at many different (price) levels and purchase tickets before the tickets become available to the general public. If you become a member, you are able to enjoy the lounge area which offers complimentary... More

I've seen numerous concerts here, most recently the dancers Maks & Val from Dancing with the Stars. It's a smaller venue and almost every seat is good. The acoustics are great as well. They usually serve drinks and some food before the show and during intermission. It's a wonderful place to see a show.
