Visited with 8 and 12 year old homeschoolers who loved both movies. This is NOT a Seaworld type show, but a working rescue center and hospital. Might be boring if you just want to be entertained or have very little children. We had thoroughly perused their website and their online educational info before visiting. The live webcams are great. Our... More

The aquarium is dated and needs renovations that are already in progress. Kids will like it. This is a good place to go on an overcast day. The Jolley Trolley stops here which costs adults $5 for an all day pass. There are not a lot of specimens at the aquarium, but kids seemed to enjoy the shows.

Thank you for visiting Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Bill! As you mentioned, we are currently underway with an exciting expansion plan that will allow us to create even larger homes for our resident animals and also provide our visitors with more space and an enhanced experience. Our current facility is a converted wastewater treatment plant that we've occupied since the 1970s,... More

We spent several hours at the aquarium. The highlight, of course, was seeing Winter and Hope! We were able to watch them play together and go through some training exercises. The underwater viewing area we great! The staff were all knowledgeable and friendly. You could tell the staff enjoyed their work. We were able to touch a stingray and then... More

Took the SeaLife boat Tour, looked around the aquarium, and took the Behind the Scenes Tour where we learned even more about their mission of recovery and rehabilitation of wild animals from an interesting guide. Smaller kids like seeing where the Dolphin Tales movies were made and meeting the dolphins, but this is good for older kids too - they... More

My kids and I like aquariums and we've been to many aquariums. This one is the least attractive one. It's small and doesn't have many marine animals.

We're sorry to see that Clearwater Marine Aquarium wasn't quite what you expected. Our facility is a converted wastewater treatment plant that we've occupied since the 1970s to fulfill our mission of rescue, rehabilitation, and release. The resident animals that we have at CMA have all been deemed non-releasable by the government, since they lack crucial skills to survive on... More

This small aquarium is jammed packed with things to see and do. We loved that most of the animals were rescued, are being rehabilitated, or are downright famous. This is the aquarium featured in the Dolphin Tale movies - and they are VERY proud of that. My family of 5 visited this aquarium while on vacation in Clearwater. Unfortunately, we... More

We're sorry to see that Clearwater Marine Aquarium wasn't quite what you expected. Since most of our exhibits are open-air, the temperature inside does fluctuate a great deal depending on the day's forecast. Hopefully during your visit you were able to see all of our resident animals, enjoy our many presentations, and stop by our animal hospital to see our... More

I have to say it was nothing like I expected but it was awesome in it's own way. It was great to see the animals so very well cared for. It can get pretty packed so be prepared to stay a while to see everything you want to see.
