The captains were knowledgeable, helpful and fun. We had a great time on our ride to Cayo Costa and back. The only exception was we were charged $8 for parking for the day. When I got back and rechecked, our itinerary said $6 for the day. This is why I did not give it 5 stars. It left me feeling... More

We used Tropic Star to get to Cayo Costa State Park and loved it. The boat was steady and the captain was very informative. They were punctual. We saw a lot of dolphins on the return trip. I would use the company again.

Kathy and her crew at Tropic Star really pulled a miracle out of their hats for us! We were on a four day camping trip on Cayo Costa and had to leave early due to a medical emergency. Our party had no tickets for the ferry as we came over on a family members sail boat. Since it was the... More

I'm the last person to leave bad reviews due to the industry I'm in myself but my experience with Tropic Star left me no choice but to inform others. Me and some friends recently used them to travel for two days to Cayo Costa State Park. They request on their website that you be no later than 30 minutes early... More

I took tropic star twice to Cayo Costa day trips. Both captains were knowledgeable about the area and history. Twice I was ferried one leg of the trip by a smaller boat than the tropic star boat itself. If you get a chance, take this option. You get to the island in half the time. What prevents a five star... Upon boarding the ferry we had the captain yelling at us that we needed to be seated. They had piled everyones stuff on the back seats and I didnt feel, being a paying customer, that I should have to move others belonging to have a place to sit. So the captain continued on about how we needed to sit and... More

We took the Tropic Star boat to Cabbage Key, enjoyed a nice lunch, then on to Cayo Costa State Park, where we enjoyed a beautiful beach. Captain Rick provided an interesting commentary as we motored across the beautiful water towards our destinations. Cayo Costa provided an easy tram between the boat dock and the beach, although some of our group... More
