Cycle the Island

One of the best features of the island is it's extensive bike trail that runs the entire length of the island. Impeccable maintained.

Plenty of parking, free and a small fee. We brought our bicycles with us but could have rented them in town. This was a great way to see the island. Lighthouse, with gift shop, osprey nests, beaches, and the Gulf.

This island is so darn cute, and riding the trail is the best way to see all the details. We rented beach cruisers from a shop in town and headed south on the trail to the public beach and lighthouse on the southern tip of the island, passing a lot of beautiful coastal mansions along the way. We returned to... More

The trail is nice and although busy with golf carts and many cross streets, no one is moving very fast.

Boca Grande exists because of the bike trail. This trail is the result of the long, thin, flat geography of Boca Grande. Bikes and golf carts define the personality of the island. If you find yourself on BG, rent a bike and ride on this trail. It's a religious experience. And the trail continues another 7 - 8 miles North... More

Can ride from end of island for about 7 miles on this old railroad trail. Lots of hikers, joggers and bikers and even golf carts on trail

this bike path winds its way thru Boca Grande Island. There are miles of trails straight down the old railroad right of way. You can ride a bike for miles before the island and then connect with this path once you cross the bridge into Boca Grande. You will see gorgeous water views, beautiful homes and many different types of... More

If you are like me who loves to cycle but thinks the roads have got too dangerous, then consider Boca Grande. There is a trail that is both safe and for those who are not that experienced the terrain is flat. This means your bike doesn't need gears to traverse the terrain. Bike hire is available and reasonably inexpensive, with... More

You will see bikes, golf carts, hover boards, joggers, walkers with dogs, iguanas as big as small dogs, raccoons, possum, wading birds, snakes, lizards and toads oh my. and some Critters I have forgotten All sharing the same narrow strip of pavement in Lee County Boca Grande Island particularly on a very nice autumn day Be cautious on the narrow... You can bike, walk or take a golf cart almost the whole length of the Island. It's beautiful, peaceful and easy to walk. If you go by car there is a toll to get over the bridge, and you will also have to pay to bike over bridge. There are a few places on the island you can rent bikes... More
