A great place to get annihilted by the "No-See-Ums" (especially at dawn or dusk).

Most folks will not even know they're getting bite by the no-see-ums (until the next day). The park sells a spray which may help with the "no-see-ums" (think it's called... read more

Most folks will not even know they're getting bite by the no-see-ums (until the next day). The park sells a spray which may help with the "no-see-ums" (think it's called "no-gnats"). Calusa Beach is a decent beach. It's not my favorite at Bahia Honda. Still it's a nice beach on a windy day. This is an OUTSTANDING SUNSET location.

Not my favorite beach in Bahia Honda, but great on a windy day or with small children. Beautiful views of the bridge. Right next to the concession area.

This is a pretty but small beach on the bay side at Bahia Honda. It is close to the concessions and the short hike up to top of the bridge where you can get incredible panoramic views of the bay and ocean. Can get pretty packed as the beach is fairly small but pretty. Head over to the ocean side... More

This is the bayside beach at Bahia. Narrow strip of sand with five picnic table shelters. Arrive early to get a coveted spot. Highway noise is constant so don't count on napping. Next to parking, concessions and nature center.

A lovely beach with a great view. We came close to sunset. My son loves trains and he enjoyed the bridges very much. The water was warm and calm. Kinda cloudy though. Great sand beach which is hard to find in the keys. Not a lot of people when we were there in May. Totally worth stoping to see!

This is part of the state park beaches at Bahia Honda state park. It is the one closest to the concessions. Usually much cleaner that the other Sandspur beach. We think it is the best for the young children very shallow and calm. Great Sunset view. As locals we use the beaches there often. Do not forget the sun-screen and... More

Went here with the girlfriend our second day in the Keys and didn't find a better beach outside Key West while there. Unlike the other beaches, Calusa has space to to walk around and enjoy the view. Less people here during peak time and lots of parking. Gorgeous.

This is a small beach at Bahia Honda where the water is shallow & calm. This trip, I only went to Bahia Honda at dusk to watch the sunset & it was breathtaking being able to get both bridges in my pictures!

This beach is nice with a great shallow area for wading or swimming, and calm enough for small children. My friends and I played frisbee in the water. We enjoyed watching the pelicans dive for fish and the sunset behind the Seven Mile Bridge. Great beach, would definitely go back.
