Interesting, unique and somewhat rockless, oysterbedless (unlike Jacob's)

This beach is very shallow and one can walk the shoals for quite a ways. Still, if you get out far enough, good for swimming. Harvey's does not have the pain-in-the-neck rocks and... read more

Ok, we are new to the area and were a bit disappointed to find that it was mostly a kids/parents type of a beach. And there is a a big area that looks like a black hole and has some kind of swampy looking grass in it? Town Beach is a better option but it is also very small and... More

Harvey's Beach is a small beach visited by small groups and families. The very shallow beach exposed at low tide for lots of shell hunting. The sheltered beach does not have big waves, so safe swimming for young swimmers is very enjoyable.

This beach is way less crowded than Hamonnaseth beach , which is near this beach. Water stays below knee level for about 300-400 feet. So it is very nice to go with Kids. Parking fee was $20 which I felt very high. There is not much parking space. There is only 1 stall which serves food. Toilet was closed before... More

My family of boys and their cousins, ranging from ages 13 to 1, loved this beach. It was perfect for the little baby, and the bigger kids. They saw schools of fish, found some really good rocks to skip, and the water was low enough we didn't have to worry as much. The water was so clear and at low... More

We stopped by simply to get a glimpse of it, as we were guests at the nearby Saybrook Point Inn. It's the closest beach to the Inn and I believe the Inn provides a free parking pass, but even with that, I wouldn't go. The sand is very course, the beach is small, and the water is mucky and has... We stayed whole day and enjoyed ocean tides. It was referred by Econolodge hotel staff and it is worth of visiting while you are in town. you may don't see many people sometimes in a day but it was good since you get some quate environment.

I have gone to OS all my life but since my family's home is on another beach I never went to Harvey's. Now that I have babies I looked for something with a small area and calm waters. Harvey's is an hour from us in Western MA and it's only $10 for the day. There are bathrooms and changing areas-... More

This beach is very shallow and one can walk the shoals for quite a ways. Still, if you get out far enough, good for swimming. Harvey's does not have the pain-in-the-neck rocks and foot cutting oyster beds that Jacob's beach has - ugh! Nice views too. There were horse flies and jellyfish when I went on Friday. I wish the... Not much of a beach for swimming, especially as the tide retreats, but it is a gorgeous location and open to the general public...for a price. While residents pay for a season parking pass, visitors pay a daily rate, so be advised.
