We went for a fun hike from the parking lot that is part way up the mountain. We went off trail a bit but ended up on a trail that led to the summit. Little did we know that there are a few ways down...More

We had heard about the Tower at Haystack and the great views from the top. You can see 360 degrees for miles.

The hike is not difficult (one bit that's rugged/steep, but that part isn't too long) and you'll be rewarded by beautiful, panoramic views from the observation tower at the summit.

If you're in this area, don't skip Haystack Mountain. You drive up to a parking area, and from there it's just a 30-minute (or less) walk to the summit. Just one little steep spot. But then climb the 40 or so steps to the top...More
