This is a unique experience for all ages. When it opens hourly a parade of all types of vessels pass through. At the same time it ties up traffic on either side. Locals accept it as a way of life. It draws crowds at each opening. A memorable experience for those who have never seem it.

If your in Mystic...you MUST stroll over the bridge just to marvel at the simplicity of the design...and how it has stood the test of time.

Don't get me wrong, I loved downtown Mystic, Connecticut. It is beautiful, clean and very quaint with a multitude of shops and restaurants. However the shops close at 6pm, even on a weekend, which I found disappointing. And the much hyped bridge is in reality very small and to say the least very underwhelming.

Very interesting bridge. We did not see it open. But will visit again to see that. The shops in the area were great and we ate at Mystic Pizza. It was nice to watch the movie again.

You don't see draw bridges like this every day. A wonderful place to stand and watch the boat traffic.

Fun to come up a little draw-bridge in the downtown of this quaint New England town. Can get a nice view of it from the S&P Oyster restaurant. Nice area to spend a few hours walking and checking out the shops.

Beautiful scenery. An amazing place to venture to. I definitely recommend finding a parking spot to walk this entire area.

Live in Mystic, and love the bridge, truly unique and historical. This bridge divides Mystic which actually is 2 towns, Groton on the West and Stonington on the East. In the summer, the river is busy with boating traffic going to and from the Seaport, north of the Bridge. Only very low boats can get under the bridge without the... More

Located in old town Mystic near Mystic Pizza. Built in the 20s. Worth checking out if you are visiting town.
