Exceptional local arts group dedicated to keeping art alive in Meriden with classes and events. The organization also has a gift shop that features one-of-a-kind items.

I love Gallery 53 and visit it a number of times during the year. The staff is mostly volunteers and each one totally loves being there. They are pleasant, knowledgeable about the merchandise, and friendly. There is a variety of pottery, jewelry, artwork, notecards, fabric pieces, some small painted furniture etc. If you are looking for reasonably priced handmade crafts go to Gallery 53. It's well worth the trip.

This is a gem of a shop. So many very items, you need time to really look. The past few summers they have done a Floral Design project with the Wallingford Garden Club. Garden Club members picked out paintings and then made floral arrangements to depict the paintings. So creative!!! This has been done in Philadelphia, Boston and Hartford. So nice that Gallery 53 can compete on this level.
