An interesting school trip

It was a nice trip. I went with my sons 3rd grade class. The kids loved it. A bit aged but still lots of hands on activities. Definitely a nice secondary stop.

I don't believe that this is still open as CRRA is no longer functioning as a state quasi public agency

We were looking for something unusual to do and this was so interesting. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts it is closing on June 24th. I hope the state of Connecticut reconsiders this. It was interesting and especially fascinating was going up to view the actual operation of the recycling center going on. To see the volume of material being recycled... More

Very cool. The Trash Museum has a lot of facts about the waste produced in the United States, recycling, and ways you can help improve the environment. Geared toward children more so, however I in my mid 20s and enjoyed the visit by myself a lot. Only $4 for entry. There is a small gift shop attached and a real... More

Going here will make you realize how much we waste which could be recycled. I went here on a field trip and learned about the need for reusing as much as we can.

We recently took our grandchildren to the trash museum to hopefully instill in them a sense of their role as responsible environmental citizens. The museum is geared toward school age children but its displays and contents are relevant to all ages. In the the second floor viewing room it was fascinating to see (real time) trash unloaded from local trucks... More

The CRRA Trash Museum is a one of kind place with a rich history of what we think is trash. A great place to take the family and enjoy some great history with a few laughs! A must see!

First of all a trash museum? Who's stupid idea was this? No dynamic exhibits, a true waste of time and money.

Like the trash found in the Temple of Trash, the museum was a unique find on our recent trip to Hartford. The museum had many activities for young children. My son had a blast with the mock trash sorter. The museum staff was very friendly. They mentioned that they think that they are the only museum dedicated to trash in... More

Fun afternoon w 2 preschoolers! They enjoyed the scavenger hunt, art table, trash viewing and playing with the sorter. We spent 2 1/2 hours, various activities. You also get to see trash recyclables brought in and sorted off the trucks! Art area we spent awhile making collages from trash boxes. Would visit again! Staff is very friendly and helpful!
