Western Australia's oldest observatory is located 25km east of Perth in Bickley. The Observatory has served the state of WA for over 120 years and remains actively involved in the service of public education. In recognition of its scientific, cultural and historical significance, the Observatory was entered on the state's Heritage Register in 2005. The Perth Observatory is part of the Department of Parks and Wildlife and is run by the Perth Observatory Volunteer Group Inc. The Observatory is open for group day tours and night sky tours. Visit was interesting but unfortunately too much cloud cover to view any stars. Obviously the volunteers are passionate but found the standing around listening to some of their commentary a little boring as I did not understand some of the scientific terminology they were using....More

Visited Perth Observatory on the 25th May with husband. Amazing night, tour guides very knowledgable and were able to answer many questions. Would recommend this Tour.

Saw Saturns rings! Saw four of Juipters moons! Volunteer guides were knowledgeable and able to explain a lot about what we were seeing, and how to see it our selves at home
