Walking through Telluride? Try walking along the river on the city pathway. It's great for people, dogs, bikes? Any combo. And the river views are contstantly enjoyable. Makes you feel closer to nature, while on the way to work, or a meeting or shopping- anything. It works. It also goes near the gondola, and leads away from parking areas. So... More

Beautiful small mountain river that flows from the box canyon in the east, through town park, along the southern edge of Telluride, then down into the valley as it continues west. Bordered by the Idarado Trail and River Trail which are both easy walking and biking and eventually merges into the single track bike/hike Valley Trail. Whenever possible we took... More

We spent a couple days on the river and had a blast. We used a fishing guide service, Telluride Outside. The views and fishing were fantastic!

Went rafting on this river with Telluride Outside. Early June, lots of water, very fast and had a blast.

Enjoyed this easy trail along the river. Spent about 2 hours biking. Connects to national forest as well. Nice wide trails.

The San Miguel River begins outside of Telluride. There are walkways along the river in Telluride (though watch where you step & know that people often let their dogs run on this path!!). The river meanders through The Valley Floor and on Down Valley. People fly fish in different locations on the river, seasonally, keeping the "best spots" a secret!!.... More

Can't recommend highly enough the rafting and fishing on the San Miguel RIver about 15 minutes outside of Telluride. The outfit we used was Mild to Wild and their guides were great, lunch was delicious and the rapids were fun. We fished with another company that was equally awesome. This river is not well known in Colorado and is a... More

We found this trail while staying at Mountainside Inn. We enjoyed this easy trail that extends through and beyond the town of Telluride. There are fly fisherman to watch, rapids to enjoy and rocks to sit on and just take in all in. We took this trail daily and every day came across nice folks, different things to look at... More
