I did a fly fishing trip last year with Steve and had an absolutely awesome experience. I tried to set up a last minute trip with him but he was booked. Justin was working at store and mentioned ice fishing. I was interested in trying that with my son and he accommodated us for the following day. I would highly... More

Beautiful store and easy to navigate through. HUGE selection. We are the kind of people to drop some big money while shopping out of town, especially around the holiday season. A young gentleman assisted us while looking at some reels and rods and was all around so pompous we had to leave and spend money elsewhere to avoid giving that... More

I did not use this shop directly but had an incredible experience with Duncan, the guide, who is affiliated with them. I was fishing downtown on my own and not having much luck. There was another fisherman upstream from me who was just pulling in fish after fish. He took pity on my and invited to use his rod and... More

We did a fly fishing trip with three groups in two locations in July 2016. For the Yampa River group, Ben and Rich were great guides. All four of the fishermen were new to fly fishing, and they were super patient and helpful. We all learned a lot and had a great day on the river. If in Steamboat again,... More

Great store with tons of items to choose from. We bought a few things and certainly could have spent more. I was worried that they would only have fishing gear and that is not the case. Something for everyone.

My 16 year old daughter and I went to check out downtown Steamboat during the sidewalk sale weekend. Happened into Straightline while looking at a Patagonia pullover and ended up with snowboots and watershoes too. The staff made me a deal better than the sidewalk pricing.

The "Twins" ,have owned the store for many , many , years, and know this area well, and all the outdoor sports, and equipment. This is where you want to go to get a "Real Local's Opinion", of where to go , etc. I love their honesty, and their love for Steamboat ! Great, specialty equipment, you can not find... More

After years of unsatisfactory online purchases, I went to Straightline for hiking shoes. The saleswoman spent about an hour with me, and I must have tried 8 pair of shoes. Straightline has a 30-degree ramp that you can stand on to test up, down, left and right comfort with - vital for Rocky Mountain treks. The pair she helped me... More

Have gone out with several guides for both fishing and hunting. They were all excellenet. Justin and I were successful in our elk hunt last year. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about all aspects of the hunt. I am already looking forward to another season this fall. Also a great shop with everything you could need for your outing.

Although straight line is a sports store, they excel as a fly fishing store. Their guides are knowable and skilled. They have a wide variety of fishing equipment that is appropriate for northern Colorado
