The gondola moves a lot of people and can accommodate 8. It cranks. It's the best choice to start the day because it gets you to mid mountain quickly and from there you have access to just about any of the other 15 lifts. We usually just take it up once and stay up mountain all day. If you're a... More

We took the gondola at night to eat at Hazie's Beautful to look out at the city at night and see the lights an night skiers.. A chilly 10 minute ride but fun!. Attendants give you a blanket. Amazing to watch as the gondola climbs the mountain.

The gondola has great views, seats several people, and very rarely stops mid-run. If you don't mind not sitting with your friends/family, the singles line often save a bit of time, and chances are, you'll get to sit with one of your companions, anyway. When they "upgraded" from the traditional lift tickets that you hang on the outside of your... More

You won't BELIEVE how simple it is to use: You get in. You go up. You get out. Of all the ups and downs in my life (escalators, elevators, pogo sticks, relationships), the gondola at Steamboat was definitely one of those times! When I choose a gondola, there are several things I look for: -Preferably made of some sort of... More

Not much to say really. There is no alternative. They get the crowds moving and the people that work there are friendly and nice.

The first time I took the gondola to the top of the mountain was for my daughter's wedding. SPECTACULAR! And the other riders all whistled "here come the bride"! Revisiting the mountain in winter is just as magical..whether you're skiing or snowshoeing! The Gondola is the only way to get to the top of the mountain!

We used the gondola to access the mountain for skiing. There were numerous people to help you load and stow your gear as you got on the gondola. The ride was smooth and if you choose you can skip skiing down the mountain by riding the gondola down.

The Steamboat Gondola will take you about three quarters of the way to the top of the mountain. It's a great way to view the surrounding area while protecting you from the elements.

Took the last gondola ride up,to the top before closing until ski season opens in November. The summit has a band, bar food, happy hour and plenty of time to catch an amazing sunset. The experience was very nice and controlled, with ample photo ops. We photographed the sunset from the start until it disappeared. Great timed photography.
