Interesting presentations of pioneer lives and times, including some videos and audios that enhance the other exhibits. Includes a nice Victorian home. Spent about an hour and a half and was well worth the time and the reasonable fee. Parking available nearby on the street or in close public lot.

I like local museums but the quality can be widely variable. This one is simply excellent. It presented a very good history of Steamboat Springs extending from the original Utes to settlers to development of the skiing industry in this area. It was not overwhelming but it still took a very pleasant 2 hours to meander through the exhibits. The... More

We really enjoyed learning the history of Steamboat Springs and seeing how the settlers arrived. Worth every penny to step back in time.

Tons of local history in a tiny little house. Very well done, lots of artifacts, especially about all of the Olympians to come out of the area! Very sweet and attentive employee/volunteers, and activities that held the attention of a tech pre-teen and hands on elementary child.

I grew up a few hours from Steamboat and have been there numerous times, but I learned more about the history of Steamboat in one hour at the museum than I did in a dozen previous trips! The Tread of Pioneers Museum is a charming look into the history of Steamboat Springs. Many Colorado resorts were the inspiration of corporations... More

We were friendly greeted at the door. Walked through six? rooms of an old house filled with collection of old by gone era and one room upstairs that we could not understand the reason for the exhibit . The first floor of the museum main floor related to the history of Steamboat ranching, skiing and winter sports athletes competing of... More

One of the important components of travel for us is learning about the region. Admiration for those hearty early settlers and heartbreak listening to the story of the Utes. Great displays, the front hall of the original 1905 Victorian home took my breath away as it could have been my Grandmother's home.

I came here as part of a geocache hunt, but I stayed to enjoy the living history of Steamboat Springs. I paid $5 to enter (since I'm an old guy), and it was worth every penny. it had rooms and rooms full of artifacts and stories of the recent past and beginnings of this fascinating city. What I liked the... More
