This was the most impressive museum I have ever been. Totally did not expect it to be so organized and well kept. And so much to see. You start out in an old jail then down to the basement to see many rocks and minerals....More

Stopped and toured this hidden gem for a couple hours before heading to Ouray. There is so much crammed into this place. Very interesting exhibits in mining and the history of Silverton. The old jail is very interesting, too.

The nicest museum I've been to in a long time. There is a lot of things to see, the jail house was interesting, you could even go into the cells. Watch your children, some items are out and about and they're not to be touched....More

This is a hidden gem - from the outside it looks small but first looks are deceiving. The museum is huge with lots of displays, well presented. More than worth the $8 entry fee.

We came thinking this would be just a quick run through of your usual small local museum. Boy were we wrong. We spent two hours looking through all the artifacts.

Oh, I just figured out the snow part. We couldn't get up to Highland Mary Lakes one year HIKING because of too much snow in the high country. So sorry for the mix-up.
