We made it into Silverton just to experience this tour. We were not disappointed. Our GPS took us way off course, but we just pulled up the Old Hundred website and followed their directions easily. The staff are all very friendly and seem to enjoy...More

An excellent tour with a retired miner as the guide who demonstrates the use of real mining equipment inside a real mine. Dan, our guide, was outstanding. He was both educational and fun. You take a mine train about a 600 yards or 5 minutes...More

This one hour tour is conducted by a retired miner who demonstrates the use of real mining tools and equipment. We learned so much and it would have been educational and enjoyable for children as well. The senior discount makes it very affordable. I wouldn’t...More

Apparently I like this tour; I've taken it three times! It's better than other mine tours I have taken because of the demonstrations of real, loud, working equipment. I especially like the mine cart with a scoop to pick up and load ore. Each visit,...More

I have to say that when the group decided to do this I wasn't on board, but I'm so glad I did it. The guides were friendly and very informative. It is cold (47 degrees) but it was so interesting that we didn't mind. We...More

First of all this mine is not a few minutes from Silverton it is in fact 5 miles most of which is along an inpaved road. The ride along the road has some beautiful scenery but it is a slow ride depending on your vehicle....More

If confinement in a small area does not bother you, this is a GREAT TOUR. You take a mine train 4 minutes into the mountain. You will be inside it for one hour and do a walk through with an excellent tour guide. He operates...More

When someone recommended this tour we didn't know what to expect. We rode our OHV up and were totally blown away by this tour. You have to put on a rain jacket and helmet to ride the mine train down 1/3 mile into the mountain....More

Very good, authentic mine experience, with a former miner as the guide. I really appreciated that we were able to ride the rail car actually into the mine; it was much easier to experience just a bit of the hard conditions that miners endured. Dan,...More

I don't know about the pass. I think it was $18 for adults and we paid Senior rate which was $16. I don't think that was excessive for an hour tour in the mine with the train ride in and out and demonstration of tools... More

Probably not doable in one day. Also, you will want to make reservations for tours at Mesa Verde.

We arranged for the mine guide to pick us up a couple blocks from the train station and take us to the mine. You may want to contact them and see if they will do the same for you.
