Spiral Drive leads to the top of a small mountain overlooking Salida. From the town it does not look like much, but it is well worth the drive to the top. The drive is a bit unnerving due to the narrow gravel road and steep...More

Stunning views : Easy drive or challenging walk/cycle to the top. Best place to survey Salida from the Eagles nest as the top of S-Mountain which is even prettier at night.

Drive up unless you are a strong young thing. The view is exceptional. It is good for photographers. If you are into geology, you will notice that it is an ancient basalt bubble.

It took me about 40 minutes starting at the Caboose parking lot to get to the top of the steps with the little building. I walk slow and stopped to take a break at the bench. I bet you could do it faster though!
