We all know how crowded National Parks are now. It takes reservations months in advance to get a campsite. Well, it's almost as bad at State Parks now too, so be sure to call ahead. But the Ridgway park is well worth it: it has amazing views, lots of great sites, a large reservoir to sail, sup or swim in,... More

Ridgway Reservoir has all the boating and camping facilities to make your trip worthwhile. The visitor center has a great view of the area.

Great place to picnic and paddle board with kids and friends! DOW officers could tone down the tickets as we are all there to be safe and have fun. It was almost harassing to get questioned in every little thing! I realize they are doing their job but the need to back off a little!

The campground below the lake is very clean and well. Maintained. I used the laundry and it was inexpensive and worked well. The bathrooms and showers are very clean. The campsites have full hookups making it easy for RV's and tent campers alike. There are lots of chipmunks and magpies that like to steal peanuts - tons of fun for... More

The staff inside the Visitor's Center were extremely helpful. One was a park ranger and the other was a volunteer. We didn't really go through the Park, as we were on our way to the San Juan Scenic Highway, but my brother did purchase a nice book and I got a couple of knickknacks. I also got my first great... A great place to fish on the catch and release portion of the Uncompahgre River. This is a place that can be fished year round and expect to always catch something. A good size here would be 18" Brown or Rainbow, there are also Cutthroat. Camping right above the river is great, the sites are not cramped with elec, H20... More

This is our second time at Ridgway state park and we'll be back again next year. Great separation between the campsites; excellent laundry facilities; wonderful hosts.

My husband and I have been living in our RV and traveling the country for 7 months. Ridgway State Park is hands down the most beautiful we have stayed at. Staff is friendly and helpful, facilities are clean and well maintained. The location is absolutely perfect, settled in the San Juan Mountains, short drives to Telluride, Silverton and close to... If you camp by the river you hear the noise of the highway. If instead you camp at Elk Ridge, you don't hear the noise at all. The Fall colors we're absolutely stunning. The Starlit nights were brilliant

My husband and I did a road trip this fall, spending some time camping and some time in hotels. Ridgway State Park was a highlight for us. We were tenting, so we appreciated the gravel tent platform, the nicely designed picnic table, and the large site. We had some great weather while we were there, that always helps, but the... More
