The Lakewood Heritage Center is always fun to go to as a family. Even when it is closed, you can still see the buildings, the mock up of historical Colfax Avenue, and take a fun walk. The places illustrated spark interesting and fun conversations with...More

We live nearby and walk and skate at this park often. It's left alone for the most part so lots of natural growth along paved trails. On the southeast side of the park there is an amphitheater and small historic village set up for historic...More

But I'd rather be honest. Lakewood is a suburb. Period. This is an attempt to create a place and time that did not exist here. Store fronts are cute but only because the highway before the interstate was say a mile north. It's pretend historically....More

Beautiful and safe. Can't belief what a great resource this is for the local community - and regardless of the season, it always has something new to offer.

If you are a history buff, especially for the 50's-60's this place is a final resting location for many old structures from when Lakewood was much smaller. Quite a few building from old Colfax Blvd have been saved here. Also quite a few farming outbuildings.

We have attended a number of luncheons/ lectures here and they have all been very nice. Home made lunch provided by volunteers and good lectures on a variety of topics from the history of skiing in Colorado to the history of downtown Denver.

The Lakewood Heritage Center is like a little walking history. Part of a beautiful park near Belmar, you can walk along a virtual Colfax Avenue, like you would walk down "memory lane". There is also a small museum, and if you select your visit's date...More

You can see lots of 19th century and mining museums in Colorado, but NOT a 20th century museum. There are several buildings on the property, majority brought in and restored. They offer tours twice at day at 11 and 2 so you can see the...More
