Grand Mesa Ride

Beautiful views for an afternoon adventure if staying in Grand Junction. Take a little drive through Grand Mesa, we went on national parks weekend so it was free.

It is my favorite place to go.It does not matter what season is outside-the view will be beautiful! It is a lot of activities you can do there: hiking, skiing, fishing,ATV riding, snowmobilies, boating and on and on .

We visited the first week of October. The leaves were in full change, there were very few other tourists to compete with, and the weather was gorgeous. Couldn't have asked for better day.

Although I had lived in Colorado for ten years, I hadn't visited the Grand Junction area for recreation...always "passing through". But, on the advice of a friend, who grew up in GJ, my wife and I spent a few days there...exploring and noshing! Grand Mesa (a REALLY BIG mesa, for sure, had it all - trees, plateaus, meadows, drop-offs, views,... More

This park is far less traveled than some of the other nearby national parks in UT, so it's a great chance to experience nature in solitude. Highly recommend the Crag Crest Trail.

Lands End is a particular favorite place of ours to visit. We feed the squirrels while we are up there. In the... More

We went up on the North side and stopped at the Powderhorn ski area and Mesa Lakes. Stoped and walked to a stream just a short distance from Powderhorn. The aspen were very thick and beautiful. The strem was fast flowing and very pretty. At Mesa Lakes we saw 14 species of birds plus a red fox. This was our... More

Peaceful, easy drive to Grand Mesa from Grand Junction on 10-12-16. I had 3/4s of a day and this turned out to be time well spent. The drive through the winding canyons, with streams and the fall colors were great. It was so quiet and of course the Colorado skies are so blue!
