While visiting friends in Granby (about 20 minutes north of Winter Park), we spent a couple of days skiing at this small but fun area. Great for beginners, though intermediates can find challenge here, as well. Expert skiers will not find Granby challenging, but good for a day of just nice cruising and enjoying the outdoors, especially with the family.... More

This is our second year skiing here and we chose to come back because this is very organized, the pope the are amazing, the ski tracks are very nice for all levels, much less crowed than WinterPark, less expensive, etc. This year our oldest son learned to snowboard there and loved, and the rest of the family ski all routes.... This is a good ski area for beginners. It is very reasonably priced, and you can ski all day. It was not busy, and had short wait times for the lifts

It's smaller than Winter Park, but SO family friendly, beginner friendly, people friendly. I never waited more than 60 seconds to get on the lifts. There are plenty of greens and blues and blacks to keep anyone happy. I was by myself for the day trying to get a bunch of runs in. The runs aren't as long as other... More

This place has everything a beginner skier would want. Bunny slope, ski school, rental, place to eat and low price. If you feel that you have earned your wings on the bunny slope you can try the big hill at night skiing for a low price. Parking is busy but shuttle makes it workable. Drop your crew at the front... This was the first time on skis in over 10 years for both me and my girlfriend. The Zig and Zag bunny hill slopes were perfect for us to figure our the basics of stopping and turning again. Lines were almost non-existent for the Zig-Zag trail lift, slightly longer for the other lift that went to the top of mountain.... More

Great staff and facility/lodge. If you have kids come here. The staff was awesome with my daughter. They had no clue I was watching and they were awesome. My kid LOVED them and skiing. I am horrible at skiing and learned more from her lessons than mine. As to the rest, good burgers and beer.

Granby Ranch, formerly Sol Vista, is a great place to ski for first timers and families. It is much smaller, much more compact, and much more economical than the large resorts. A great magic carpet beginner hill and a larger lift that handle 2 beginner slopes designed for first timers. Much of the 2 mountains are beginner and intermediate terrain.... More

We found Granby Ranch a year ago when looking for a family friendly ski resort. We have been back several times and look forward to the next. The ski resort is small in comparison to the mega resorts, which makes it hassle free to drop off your skis, your family, park within 150 feet, jump on a lift and smile... More

This was my first trip to Colorado, and it is my first season skiing, so we were looking for a place with lots of intermediate trails. Granby was perfect. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The trails were great. There were no lines for the lifts. On many trails, it felt like we had the mountain to ourselves!... More
