Foothills Explorer Tour From Denver

Soak up the scenery and culture of the Rocky Mountains—even if you have a limited time—on this half-day tour from Denver. Check out the sandstone acoustics of Red Rocks Amphitheatre, drive through alpine forests on the scenic Lariat Loop, and get panoramic views of Colorado’s Front Range from atop Lookout Mountain. It's a great way to see the outdoor playground on Denver’s doorstep without renting a car.

We were at the new Barrels and Bottles Brewpub, not their downtown older facility, which is newly opened and starting up after COVID restrictions are easing. Very festive atmosphere. Great beer selection for me and wine for my wife. Loved the live music. Staff was extremely friendly and efficient. We will certainly return and look forward to seeing and experiencing the expanded food menu.

Enjoyed this little diamond in the rough, which was kid and pet friendly. After a long car ride, this place was a welcomed respite to quench our thirst and get a reprieve from the heat (the week we visited, temps were at 90-100). We were able to bring food in, (maybe because we sat outside?) but they also offered some good looking salads and shareables. The beers were clever - I liked the strawberry sour (something about a picnic?). We also liked their bourbon barrel aged stout, the orange creamsicle (not at all as sweet as you might think - actually very light and just enough citrus and vanilla to go “hm?”), and their Belgium was great. They also offered ciders and wine, including a wine slushy (?) which I didn’t try but did look refreshing! Being from MI, the craft beer scene is pretty hard to compete with but we were impressed in a Colorado-Rockies kind of way with the offerings.

Stopped in for a couple of beers before discovering Golden, Colorado. Nice bartender and good beers. They serve food and wine as well, but we didn't look at the menu.
