Foothills Explorer Tour From Denver

522 reviews
Soak up the scenery and culture of the Rocky Mountains—even if you have a limited time—on this half-day tour from Denver. Check out the sandstone acoustics of Red Rocks Amphitheatre, drive through alpine forests on the scenic Lariat Loop, and get panoramic views of Colorado’s Front Range from atop Lookout Mountain. It's a great way to see the outdoor playground on Denver’s doorstep without renting a car.

Had a good visit there with my wife and sons, 8 and 11 years old. The boys had a great time with the burrow hunt. Only complaint was the excessive Covid protocols. My kids have more people in their classroom than are allowed on one floor of the museum.

We decided to stop by and it was amazing. The number of beautiful rocks was stunning. Our grandchildren were involved in the scavenger hunt which gave us plenty of time to look and read about everything. Definitely should go.

It is well displayed and with good notations about the collection. Entry is free. Golden is a charming, interesting town, with an art center, a history museum, and Coors Brewery, plus nice restaurants.

This was really neat! They have a scavenger hunt for kiddos that keeps them busy and engaged for quite a while! The glow in the dark rocks were neat to see!

Well organized and QR codes on the display case add additional reading information. If you love rocks, then this place is pretty Gneiss.
