Part of this park is a highway rest area which can only be reached from eastbound Interstate 70 at exit 126. This is a very nice rest area surrounded by mountains and what looks like a lake, but it’s actually the portion of the Colorado...More

Wow! Such a beautiful hike and an even more rewarding view. The hike can be a little strenuous but it isn’t incredibly long so just be prepared if you aren’t the most athletic. Once you get to the top, it is well worth it. The...More

This lake is accessible by a moderately difficult trail and is totally worth the climb. There is no bathroom available at the top (understandably) but the rest stop at the beginning of the trail does have restroom facilities. The lake itself is beautiful and peaceful,...More

It was slow going but we made it to the lake. Take your time. It is not for the faint of heart. It takes an honest effort to make the hike

I can see why this hike is so popular. it ranks right up there with the best hikes I have ever done. The reward at the end is well worth the hike. However, I would rate this hike as difficult for seniors.

This was a fantastic hike. Short but steep. 1,096 ft. elevation gain in just over a mile. Met very many friendly people on the trail. The trail was free from any litter of any kind which was pretty amazing considering the numbers of hikers there...More

This is THE easy-moderate hike in the Glenwood Springs area. The lake is amazing. The problem is people, oh so many people, so of course parking can also be a huge problem. A new management plan is in the works which will limit the people...More
