We, my 16 year old son and his friend, rented bikes in Glenwood springs and rode up to hanging lake, hiked it too. This bike trail goes along the Colorado river and has some beautiful scenery. We hit 2 great rest stops with indoor bathrooms, vending machines and drinking fountains. They were nice areas to take a break. Lots of... More

We left from the Silver Spruce Motel. The trail is accessed near the Vapor Caves. If you are one who needs water carry several bottles and a backpack. There are several big hills. The river by your side is awesome. There was a mountain sheep on the trail when we rounded a corner. Just waited for him to run off.... More

Great bike ride next to Colorado River from Glenwood. Not strenuous, a little up hill. The scenery in the canyon is spectacular.

I've been blessed to bike in some very pretty places (Chicago Lakefront, Acadia Carriage Trails, etc.) but this one may be the best. The ride is gorgeous. We had a few less experienced riders with us and we rode from the ranch to the Hanging Lake Trail and then on into Glenwood Springs. We were told it was mostly downhill... More

Great trail, through the heart of Glenwood canyon. Long enough to challenge, but not so long you can't conquer in an afternoon. Don't forget to stop and take in the scenery, sounds and sensations.

I rode the 12.5 miles or so from Glenwood Springs to the Hanging Lake Trailhead. Some amazing views. Climbed about 1000' -- a couple of steep sections, but otherwise a very mild climb. Racked back! Very shady, which is probably great in the summer, but in Nov. in the morning, it was pretty darn cold! Most of the trail is... More

My husband and I have always meant to ride the path, and we finally did it yesterday. It was a beautiful fall day and it was really neat to see the river and canyon from somewhere other than the interstate. We had a great time. It's nice that there are restrooms available at the rest areas in convenient locations. We... More

Rent your bike in town and let them drive you to the top of the canyon. Then enjoy the beauty before you as you descend back down into Glenwood Springs. Don't forget to stop and hike Hanging Lake Trail.

We rented bikes in town and the company dropped us off at this bike trail that follows the river. Nicely paved and incredibly scenic, this was a great day out.

The bike ride through the canyon was beautiful. We started in Glenwood Springs. The leaves were in full fall color. Nature's scenery at its best.
