The museum is unique compared to others I've been too. I really like how certain exhibits are set off and made truly special.

it is worth the visit. you must give yourself at least 2 hours to get a good grasp of the exhibit. Japanese costume presentation is a must.

I am not extremely knowledgeable about art. I tend to prefer impressionist landscapes. There were a few Monet's and Renoir's, but mostly, the art there just wasn't for me. Expect a $13 admission fee.

If we consider the emerging Denver demographic rooted in innovation, the DAM is adequate but not completely in line with the leading edge Colorado vibe. The permanent collection represented our population ten years ago certainly, therefore, its absolutely worth visiting if you're a tourist. I spend...More

We spent several hours in the museum. It was a last minute decision to go, and I'm glad we went. I highly recommend it.

We caught the tail end of the Star Wars Costume exhibit, and were very pleased. The crowd control was excellent, and the exhibit itself was amazing. It was well worth the effort to get tickets and wait for our time slot. We browsed around a...More

The layout is exhausting. It is 2 buildings attached on the 2nd floor. So you need to know exactly what you want to see and have it planned. Given the lack of help from the docents, this is a feat. Docents only give vague descriptions...More

Really permanent collection of Western art, but we've learned to anticipate the visiting exhibits, many of which go to only a couple other museums in the U.S. "Punches above its weight", as the saying goes.

The museum building is as much the experience as the art. They have devoted a lot of area simply to space. The building is interesting, the is art is pretty good. Its downtown so parking can be an issue. Find things to do out of...More

All light rail lines except the R and W. You do need to transfer at either Union Station or 16th Street Calif/Stout Street station. Take the free 16th street bus shuttle to Broadway. Then walk 2 blocks south (1/4 mile (1/2... More
Do you know if you bought tickets in advance online for the Star Wars exhibit if you would avoid the long line? Or did everyone wait in the line whether they had tickets or not? Any idea about how long the wait was to get into the exhibit? Thanks for any help!

I'm so sorry I didn't see this earlier. We bought tickets online beforehand. We only waited 10 minutes or so. They monitor how many folks can start the exhibit at a time. Waiting wasn't an issue. Also, you are free to roam... More
