We make the drive up from Colorado Springs about once or twice a year and love the changing exhibits here, as well as the regular ones. The only thing I wish they could fix is the parking issue.

We like to combine a trip to City Park with a trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. There are always new exhibits, fun and hands on activities for kids, & I also love the IMAX movies, plus check out the Planetarium shows...More

Took my 7-year old daughter here during our visit to Denver. Amazing! We spent the whole day and I don't think we saw everything. Well worth a visit, especially if you love dinosaurs or animals - the displays are incredible!!

Both my 3 yr old & 8 yr old loved the museum. Fun discovery area for younger kids (under 3rd grade). We especially enjoyed the dinosaur bones and space rooms.

The Museum is modern and spacious with well laid out and educational exhibits. The entry foyer has two giant dinosaurs above which i am sure exites all the children who visit.

The family and I went to this museum after a disappointing trip to the aquarium. We ended up spending over 3 and half hours at this museum. There was a lot to do both for kids and adults. The museum had additional add on features...More

The dioramas are the best I have ever seen in a museum! The realism and details put into the dioramas are most impressive. The map and signage is easy to follow. A great place to learn about Colorado

You'd never know this museum is 117 years old. It looks as if it has only been around about 20 years or so. Most of the exhibits and dioramas are in excellent shape. This is a family oriented place with a number of interactive exhibits....More

It was good to get out of the heat after the zoo. Pretty typical science museum. Very interactive for children.

I would recommend this museum for families, particularly those with younger children. A lot of the exhibits seemed to be child-focused (pictures and simple language to explain concepts, etc.) but they were still informative and interesting. The Vikings exhibit was incredible and there were plenty...More

How long does it take to go through museum and exhibits? Is the Vikings exhibits wheelchair accessible? Is it too noisy for hearing impaired individuals. What is the indoor temperature; is a jacket necessary?

I feel like I am repeating other's answers, but here it goes. We only spent about 4 hours at the museum, but we focused on the exhibits that interested us the most. As many have said you can spend as much or little time at... More

Is a free day a good time to go, or is it to hectic to be worth it? I.e., if I take my kids to the discovery zone, will they ever get a chance to play, or is it usually just too crowded? Thanks so much!

If you simply can't afford to go to the museum otherwise, then by all means, take advantage of the free day. That said, it is a total zoo on free day and I can confidently say you'll get more out of your visit when its less... More

Can you only purchase tickets online? Or can you show up to the museum and buy your tickets there for the day?
